About us

Our Aims and Objectives

Our aim at King-Edwards Day Nursery is to provide high quality childcare and nursery education in a safe, nurturing and stimulating care environment, giving priority to the development, needs and happiness of our children and their families.

The nursery believes that this quality can be achieved by working together in partnership with parents, carers, and OFSTED.

During our recent OFSTED inspection (April 2011), the nursery was graded "Good with outstanding qualities".

The inspector identified:

"All children make good progress because provision is good or better in all respects."

"Behaviour is exemplary."

"The atmosphere is calm and relaxed."

The nursery recognises and values the diverse community that it serves and if parents have any queries, comments or suggestions about its operation, they are encouraged to inform Sherie or Sam.

Parents are always very welcome to spend time in the nursery and the nursery staff will always be happy and willing to discuss a child's progress, development or any concerns a parent may have.

Opening hours

The nursery is open term-time only.
Daily opening times are from 8:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday. We also offer sessions for funded children.

Background information

King-Edwards Day Nursery was established in 2000 by the proprietors Sherie James-Edwards & Sam Harper-King. The nursery is situated in the centre of Milton Keynes, an ideal location close to the shopping centre.

We are a small private family-orientated day nursery providing care for children aged two to five years.

Location and contacts

The nursery can accommodate a combined total of 30 children. We are situated within Southwood Community School in Conniburrow, Milton Keynes.

The telephone number of the nursery is 01908 528222.

Nursery management and staff structure

Proprietors Sherie James-Edwards and Sam Harper-King have between them over 35 years of childcare experience. They are both hands on members of the nursery team. All of our team have various childcare qualifications and are trained in first aid. Our training is ongoing and reviewed regularly.

Waiting lists

There may be, at times, a waiting list for nursery places. Those wishing to register should obtain an application form from Sam or Sherie.
